This is a list of the positions in Mission Control. The mission control staff are the intellectual powerhouse behind the astronauts. They are the ones who give the orders and figure out solutions to the various problems that invariably pop up during a Mission. The Missions Control hierarchy officially follows the order:

• Flight Director
• Mission Specialist
• CAPCOM

Although the Flight Director nominally has absolute power in Mission Control, the Mission Commander (If in MC and not an Astronaut on the mission) retains the ability to override any of the Flight Director's decisions while in Mission Control. If a designated Flight Director is not in MC and a designated Mission Specialist is, he/she will take control of MC and give orders as necessary.
