Do we want to add a section here for all sim documents IE the beginer's guide to sim, the instructions manual, the concise procedures manual, EEP documents etc?? THe community protal seems like a good place to start--Foo1 16:07, 10 April 2006 (EDT)

Sounds good to me. Who is going to write them? - Avacar 09:53, 11 April 2006 (EDT)

Aesthetics

I suck at tables; could someone please redesign the appearance of this page? Thanks. Stefanido 14:26, 29 June 2006 (EDT)

Do you mean tables like
 -------------------
|foo| 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 |
|bar| 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 |
|baz| 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 |
 -------------------
this? --The Killer Rabbit aka Nevin 16:57, 1 July 2006 (EDT)
Could you just fix the portal for me?!!?!?! Thanks...Stefanido 00:46, 3 July 2006 (EDT)

Keeping Up To Date

We need someone to check this every so often to add new stuff to it. IronyFail 19:58, 6 February 2010 (EST)

Purpose

What is the purpose of the Community Portal? How should we use it to maximal effect? Is the current table of links acceptable? Stefanido 15:04, 8 March 2010 (EST)

That is one ugly table, and I think it should be replaced with links to categories, todo, and the style guide, like a more in-depth main page. Thoughts?---Q-Cumber 17:35, 9 March 2010 (EST)
Perhaps Todo could be moved here, and we could add to it. Stefanido 23:17, 9 March 2010 (EST)

Expansion

We need to use a common tag for short articles, or articles needing expansion. Do we use Expansion Needed or Stubs? On the main page we have both, but we should probably only use one. I vote for Stubs. Stefanido 09:19, 10 March 2010 (EST)

Seconded, because stubs at least have some text, rather than leaving the page completely blank. ---BenzyneTalk Page 12:18, 10 March 2010 (EST)

Updating the Wiki

Discussion moved to talk page from project page Stefanido 12:36, 11 March 2010 (EST)

Our current priority (IMHO) should be updating the wiki's various out-of-date articles. I have thus created a template and category recognizing up-to-date pages. The plan is to have all articles lit up with that nauseatingly bright green banner by the time the mission starts, or someone other than the wiki team bothers to use the wiki. Whichever comes first. Max.Jeffcott 17:58, 18 November 2009 (EST)

I decided that this was not working and have therefore deleted the template. It was a good idea, but the template got applied to articles that didn't deserve it, and the project was too large to be feasible. Also, it was a bit ugly and blunt.---BenzyneTalk Page 13:29, 14 January 2010 (EST)
Perhaps rather than templating the ones that we have edited we should template the ones that we have not. That way we are working towards firstly defining what needs editing and secondly getting rid of the banner, rather than cluttering up every article of the wiki permanently. - Darth Wombat 18:06, 30 January 2010 (EST)

New Material

originally published on Talk:Stefan De Young

I don't have time to process these for the wiki, but they have some very useful info on the early days of sim:

  • Alere Flamme 1991
  • Alere Flamme 1992
  • The Lisgar book that we got on graduation also have Sim history in it, from about page 278 to 281. It can be found on google books which makes image capturing easier.

Issues

Why is there a random link to Samuel Baltz after the introduction

Hey Bryn, don't forget to sign your posts using ~~~~. He wrote it, that is why. I'll make it a bit clearer. ---BenzyneTalk Page 13:36, 17 March 2010 (EDT)
